Little Blue House

little Blue House

Ruth has collaborated with architect Charles Stinson on many projects but this charming house is the smallest and the most colorful of them all. Situated on a quiet street on Lotus Lake, the project started with a modest brown house that many people would have torn down. But, in 2005, Charles and his son Josh decided to give the house a new lease on life with sustainable, locally-sourced materials, a high energy HVAC system, solar panels and other carbon-friendly features. Working closely with Charles and Josh, Ruth selected low-VOC finishes and simple yet sophisticated furnishings in a palette of bright colors that played well with the joyful bright blue exterior of the home.
